I’m now more than 6 cents/kWh cheaper than PPL’s default rate…for four years.
UPDATE 8/01/23: Smooth transition, received emailed and mailed notifications Of and From New supplier. New service started on 5/23/23, nine days from enrollment. Remember I believe it goes by your 'Meter Readings' when it converts. I would recommend Energy Harbor. Hope their prices stay low then I will not have to switch.
I love Energy Texas! Matter of fact, I was using Energy Ogre, for about 5+ years, to help me find the best company and plans for electricity. I appreciated Energy Ogre for shopping around for the best deals but when I discovered Energy Texas, I was done searching. I love Energy Texas’ competitive rates, great customer service, business slogans/advertisements and rewards programs. I very much love that it’s a veteran owned Texas business.
Energy Texas has good pricing on electricity and they offer rewards. You earnfor paperless billing, paying on time and using autopay. I was able to get a $50 gift card after just 10 months. I have not had any problems with this company, and I recommend them to my friends and people on social media who are looking for lower electricity rates.
The absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from an energy provider. I called customer service about a $25 dollar credit/promo code that was given to me via email. The customer service representatives there practically argued with me about my contract and a suspicious $100 charge they couldn’t explain and then basically on a power struggle told me to go ahead and cancel my service and that if I found a provider with lower rates they would waive the $500 early termination fee stated in my account that was never mentioned prior to signing up. So I say fine as I’ve already found a provider with lower rates. Great I hang up the phone because the guy was being a real creep and I no longer wanted to speak with him. Call back and have a different representative apply the credit, and then hours later. After 6pm I get a call from the energy representative to tell me that she sat around and talked with her co workers and they decided since I will be changing providers that they would no longer honor the $25 credit that they gave me for paying my bill on time. What the… This is so weird I have never experienced such a thing. I felt like I was dealing with children on a power struggle. Also they refused to send me anything in writing stating that they would not charge the $500 contract termination fee and just expected me to take their word for it. This company is not for Texans and their representatives are a bunch of bullies that don’t even speak English. Not Texan Definitely not American Thumbs down for the weirdest experience I’ve ever had with and electric provider.
